I am excited to share with you the name change and new format of the Research and Innovation Symposium, which will showcase research excellence in the tropics.
The Research and Innovation Symposium will be held at the Cairns Hospital Auditorium on Wednesday 16 October, with pre-symposium research capacity- building workshops and seminars scheduled in the lead up to the event.
After consultation and feedback from the 2018 symposium several changes have been made to make it more relevant and accessible to clinicians.
New features for 2019 include: Lightning presentations – these 3 minute presentations will be in addition to the usual poster and 10 minute podium presentations Research Incubator for health professionals who have a research idea they want to develop into an answerable question and a research design (15 October).
The symposium is a highlight of our annual research calendar and is designed to strengthen research capacity, promote evidence-based practice and showcase research and innovation across the Health Service.
It is an opportunity to hear a range of local, national and international speakers explore current and emerging issues related to research and innovation across medicine, nursing and allied health.
Abstract submissions open on Monday 8 July. These can be made online using the template on the symposium webpage https://cairns.health.qld.libguides.com/chhhs-researchsymposium
